He will be in charge of developing, leading and driving Travel Counsellors’ brand and ensuring it is reflected throughout the company.

Callan said:” This is such an exciting time to be joining a hugely ambitious and unique organisation.

“Travel Counsellors has a special community and bringing a personalised and caring approach to all customer interactions will be at the very core of the role and presents a great opportunity.

“I am also looking forward to developing the brand to ensure that all our Travel Counsellors are not only supported by the wider community and a first class operation, but also by a brand that is truly representative of the strong values that are upheld throughout the business.”

Steve Byrne, Travel Counsellors chief executive, said: “Dave has a deep understanding of the importance and value of brand and creating a great brand experience across all customer touch points, building mutually beneficial commercial marketing partnerships and driving and leveraging the advocacy from customers via digital channels.

“His experience at other customer-focused brands with huge loyalty is going to add massive value to the company and our travel counsellors, attracting more talented professionals and customers into our community.”

As chief people officer, Victoria Wilson will be part of the executive team, focusing on the company’s approach to talent acquisition, leadership and development, as well as leading internal communications.

Wilson said: “Travel counsellors truly care about their customers, communities and colleagues, so this role was a natural move for me.

“I am looking forward to working with such a talented team and implementing highly motivating, engaging and energising approaches that support Travel Counsellors’ core philosophy – ‘with us it’s personal’ – and strong values.”

Byrne added: “One of [Victoria’s] main roles as chief people officer will be to help us build our leadership capacity and capability within the organisation and to support the next phase in the company’s ongoing growth, alongside our continued investment in ensuring that everyone in our community is kept informed and engaged along the way.”
