Travcorp Holdings reports record trading in 2023

The parent company of online tour operators Destination2 and HolidayGems has reported it achieved the busiest day in its history in January on the back of a record-breaking 2023.

Travcorp Holdings said revenues on January 11 totalled more than £800,000, helping secure 12% growth for the month compared with last year.

Between January and December 2023, the company achieved turnover of £135m alongside the highest EBITDA figure (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) since it was formed in 2016.

Executive chairman Andrew Botterill said: “Following record results in 2022, last year has far exceeded our expectations, especially against a backdrop of challenges across the industry.”

The company said it booked holidays for 120,000 customers last year, equating to “over 360,000 bed/nights being secured with partner contracted hotels and airlines”.

The company said a “significant investment” in digital marketing and customer relationship management systems over the past 12 months had led to an increase in repeat booking levels, with January recording a 48% rise in repeat bookings year on year.

Botterill said: “The group has maintained a strong focus on growth and development this year and we are incredibly proud of our progress and performance to date.”

He added: “In what is an extremely competitive sector, we have increased our market share, strengthened our business and grown profits.

“It’s rewarding to see the investments that we have made over the last few years really starting to pay dividends.”

Botterill said the group planned to implement a sustainability strategy to further reduce its carbon footprint.

“This follows the recent installation of solar panels at our head office in Chester which currently allows the business to run 46% of its energy from renewable sources,” he added.
