Sky presenter Jonathan Samuels to moderate Abta’s Travel Convention

Sky News presenter Jonathan Samuels has been unveiled as the moderator of Abta’s 2024 Travel Convention.

Samuels, who has 25 years’ broadcasting experience and is also a travel writer, will moderate the business sessions at this year’s event, which takes place in Costa Navarino, Greece, from October 7-9.

Samuels began his career in regional BBC radio and television, before becoming chief correspondent for Channel 5 News and then a Sky News foreign correspondent, based in Sydney.

He has covered conflicts in the Middle East, US and UK elections and major incidents around the world, and has also written travel features for the national press.

Recently, he was among the journalists who joined Virgin Atlantic’s first transatlantic flight using 100% sustainable aviation fuel.

The 2024 Travel Convention will return to the venue of the 2015 event, with delegates hosted at either The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort or The Westin Resort, Costa Navarino.

The business sessions will be held at the House of Events, the resort’s dedicated convention centre.

The event is supported by lead partner easyJet holidays, plus headline partners Intrepid Travel and Global, while Travel Weekly will return as trade media partner.

Travel Weekly Group editor-in-chief Lucy Huxley said: “Travel Weekly is proud to continue its long-standing media partnership with the Travel Convention and we look forward to contributing to another compelling programme as we return to Greece and Costa Navarino.”

Discounted early booking rates of £695 are being made available until mid-July for Abta members and first Abta Partners to register, and £795 for additional Abta Partners and other delegates. A companion fee of £230 applies for those not attending as delegates.
