Railbookers introduces South America to portfolio

Independent rail specialist operator Railbookers has introduced South America to its portfolio.

The new rail programme is focused on Peru but includes itineraries which cover the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador.

In total, 21 itineraries are being offered, all of which include Peru, while the operator has also launched its first South America by Train brochure.

Itineraries last eight to 25 days and are now available to book, with departures running into 2025.

Frank Marini, president and chief executive, Railbookers, said: “South America – whether its Peru, Argentina, the Galapagos Islands or beyond – is a once-in-a-lifetime travel destination for many of our customers and travel agents, and we are thrilled to offer a comprehensive collection of independent train holidays in Peru that check all of the boxes.

“Our product team has meticulously created these journeys that offer the some of the best sightseeing and scenery, accommodations and luxury experiences available anywhere.”

Itineraries include capital city Lima, iconic landmarks such as the Incan citadel of Machu Picchu, and Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake, with a train ride through the Peruvian Andes that includes gourmet cuisine and onboard live entertainment.

Other train rides featured in Railbookers’ Peru collection include luxury options such as the Hiram Bingham and Andean Explorer.

Antonella Maggi, PeruRail director of sales and marketing, said: “We are super excited Railbookers Group will be launching Peru as a destination in its portfolio. We welcome their clients in our train journeys for genuine, memorable, once in a lifetime experiences.”

Railbookers’ new Peru itineraries also feature the chance to visit other major landmarks reachable by air and boat. These include overnight luxury cruises to the Galapagos Islands and river cruises exploring the Amazon rainforest in Peru. All internal flights and transfers are included in the package price.

The eight-day Essential Peru – The Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu itinerary costs from £4,999, including flights, private transfers on arrival into Peru, train travel and accommodation.
