MSC Cruises hires new regional sales manager

MSC Cruises has hired a new regional sales manger for the northwest region as the line vowed to continue to expand its trade sales team in the coming weeks.

Vickie Towey, who has more than 20 years’ travel industry experience including as a regional sales manager role at Going Places, will support agents in the region which is currently overseen by senior regional sales manager Karen Spencer.

Towey, who will join the line on February 20, currently works for The Holiday Emporium agency. Spencer will assume responsibility for agents in the northeast region once Towey joins the line.

Sales director Steve Williams said: “Vickie has extensive travel experience and so much passion for our business.

“She not only sells MSC Cruises in her current role, but she is also a big advocate for our cruise line and holidays on our ships on a regular basis.”

Williams confirmed Towey was the first of two hires to support agents.

“We will now start recruitment for a training executive to support our training team which is critical in growing and developing our brand awareness across our expanding trade distribution channels,” he added.

Head of retail Alyshia Bartlett added: “I am absolutely delighted to be expanding our regional sales team with the appointment of Vickie.

“It’s an exciting time at MSC Cruises as we see record-breaking sales and I believe that Vickie will be a valuable asset to our team.”

Towey said: “I am very much looking forward to joining the team at MSC Cruises and building on the amazing work that Karen has done over the last 10 years in the northwest.
