Manchester to receive new Iran Air service; a market of 20,000

Iran Air is to start Tehran Imam Khomeini – Manchester from 4 July.

The 4,568-kilometre route will operate once-weekly on Saturdays by 238-seat A330-200s.

It will depart Tehran at 0555 and arrive Manchester at 0900.  After 90 minutes on the ground, it will depart at 1030 and arrive back into Tehran at 2015.

Tehran – Manchester is not a big market, with OAG Traffic Analyser showing that about 20,000 flew between the two cities last year.  Iran Air’s weekly service will be fully focused on point-to-point demand.

Not surprisingly, around 42% of passengers flew via Istanbul with Turkish Airlines...
