Jet2holidays to conduct hotel waterpark safety audit

Jet2holidays has contracted a specialist firm to inspect and audit water parks for safety at more than 50 hotels ahead of the operator’s largest summer season.

Properties featuring water parks across Spain, Greece, Portugal, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Turkey and Croatia will be covered.

The Fun Lab, an engineering firm and accredited inspection entity, will conduct the checks.

A specific safety checklist has been developed for hotels which feature water parks, and the company will visit each property to audit them against it.

The Fun Lab can also work with Jet2holidays hotel partners that feature water parks to provide them with exclusive ‘Safe Fun’ certification.

The certification is awarded to establishments that have certified their water leisure facilities in accordance with international standards.

Jet2holidays chief executive Steve Heapy said: “Award-winning customer service is what Jet2holidays is synonymous with, however, a critical part of that service is the well-being and safety of everyone that holidays with us.

“We are delighted to be signing this agreement with The Fun Lab today, providing everyone with assurance that our hotels featuring water parks are not only providing the best enjoyment, but they are continuing to operate in line with the very best safety standards too.”

The Fun Lab managing director Javier Salvador Marín added: “We are thrilled to announce that we have become the new international partner and supplier for Jet2holidays to conduct safety audits for water parks and recreational pools at their tour-operated resorts.

“This agreement marks a significant milestone in our internationalisation efforts, as we aim to expand into new markets and help tourism companies ensure the safety of their guests while guaranteeing regulatory compliance of their hotel partners.

“Together, we look forward to promoting a safer and more enjoyable experience for travellers worldwide.”
