Chidley’s appointment follows the recent promotion of James Howlett to head of sales for the UK after the departure of Anthony Daniels.

“The cruise industry is a highly competitive space and I’m raring to take on the challenge and use my skills and expertise to help Hurtigruten stand out amongst the trade,” said Chidley.

“I look forward to working with James Howlett again as well as the wider team to deliver great results. I can’t wait to get started.”

Iain Powell, vice-president of sales and marketing for the UK and EMEA, said: “We’re entering an exciting period for Hurtigruten following the introduction of new premium products the Svalbard Express and North Cape Express.

“With the addition of these new products to our existing original coastal express, we are continuing our legacy of offering the best and most immersive way to experience the most beautiful coastline in the world.

“Our relationships with trade partners are integral to our success, and through the knowledge and experience of David, we can take our dedication and service to new heights.”
