Hablo has hired Greig White as head of travel trade as the online platform targets further global expansion.
Hablo, a newly launched networking site, aims to drive business for travel agents, tour operators and destinations.
White, formerly of Loganair and Etihad Airways, has been recruited to build and strengthen relationships with trade partners.
The travel trade division is new for the training and trade engagement platform with White charged with growing a team in the UK and in other international markets.
He described himself as “honoured” to join the firm, adding: “I look forward to working with the dedicated and talented team at Hablo to achieve our shared vision of creating a new digital home for the travel industry.”
White was previously sales manager at Loganair, where he spent five years, before which he had a six-year tenure at Etihad.
He was awarded the SPAA airline executive of the year award on two occasions, once for each airline.
In his new role, he will be tasked with developing and executing a “comprehensive strategy” on partnerships with travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, hotels, cruise lines and other trade partners, according to Hablo.
White said: “It’s an incredibly dynamic time for the travel industry and I am eager to leverage my experience to strengthen our connections within the global travel trade sector.”
Hablo managing director Russell Meara said that White’s “extensive experience, leadership and passion for the travel industry align perfectly with our mission to revolutionise the way the travel industry connects.
“With Greig at the helm of our travel trade division, we are confident that we will reach new heights and form even more successful partnerships in the industry around the world.”
