The highest number of flights from UK airports since pre-Covid October 2019 is forecast for tomorrow (Friday) ahead of the August bak holiday weekend.
With more than 3,130 departures, it is projected to be the busiest day of the year so far.
A total of 11,839 flights are scheduled over the long weekend, equating to more than 2.1 million seats, according to aviation data form Cirium.
Scheduled departures across the weekend are set to reach 90% of 2019 pre-Covid levels
The numbers across the weekend are 10% higher than the August bank holiday last year, and up 83% compared to 2021, showing a spike in outbound flights.
Heathrow will see the largest volume of departures, followed by Gatwick, Manchester, Stansted and Edinburgh airports.
The most popular international destinations are projected to be Dublin, Amsterdam, Palma, Malaga and Faro.
EasyJet is set to operate rhe greater number of flights during the weekend, followed by British Airways, Ryanair, Jet2 and Tui.
