Expedition cruise operator seeks to build trade sales network

A new expedition cruise company focused on the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard is seeking to build distribution via the trade.

Secret Atlas plans “micro cruises” for just 12 passengers sailing on board a range of ice-strengthened, purpose-built expedition vessels.

They offer greater manoeuvrability than larger cruise ships, allowing travellers to gain access to remote corners of the wilderness and get closer to wildlife, according to the company.

The new itineraries include a ten-day Natural Wonders of Svalbard sailing by the ship MV Villa with departures from Longyearbyen in May, June, July and August, timed to experience the natural phenomenon of 24-hour daylight.

Prices start at £6,800 per person for full board in twin cabin with bunk beds and bathroom facilities shared with one other cabin.

A spokesperson said: “Secret Atlas does sell via travel agents/tour operators.

“They are currently building their network of travel trade partners in the UK and would be very happy to hear from potential new partners.”
