Exodus to take 50 agents to Morocco to mark half-century

Exodus Adventure Travel is to take 50 agents on a fam trip to Morocco to mark its half-century of trading and as a thank you to the trade.

The adventure tour operator, which recently became a B Corp, revealed Morocco as the destination for its 50th birthday ‘mega fam’ to help the destination recover from the impact of last year’s devastating earthquake in the Atlas Mountains.

Managing director Sam Seward said: “The idea behind this was to do something big for the agent community which has been part of our story since 1974. The trade has been part of the development of the business; it’s a bit of a thank you.

“We want to celebrate our loyal agents. Around 20% of our business comes from the trade so it’s really important to us. For us this is an enormous fam trip, we’d normally take no more than 12 agents.”

Seward said Morocco had been chosen deliberately to help the destination recover and rebuild its tourism infrastructure.

He added: “Morocco is an important destination for us and we have lots of strong connections in the country.

“The opportunity to bring 50 agents to Morocco and help bring tourism back and help the destination regain its momentum lost by the earthquake last year is a big motivation.

“We raised around £55,000 through our foundation for the recovery and a fam trip is a great way to keep doubling down on helping Morocco.”

Agents who make a booking with Exodus between February 1 and the end of March will be automatically entered into a draw to go on the one week fam trip on November 9, 2024.

The draw will take place at the start of April with half the spaces will be reserved for UK agents and the other half for agents in the US.

The trip will be split into four itineraries: northern highlights; cities and desert; mountains and desert; and mountains and the coast. The group will all convene at the end in Marrakesh for a gala dinner at the end of the trip.

It follows the announcement following its brand refresh last year of 50 “special” departures in 2024 across its most popular tours, all of which will include an additional experiences, to mark its 50th anniversary.

The operator has launched a trade exclusive incentive for the peak season of 10% off all new trips for 2023-2024 booked between February 20 and February 29.

The operator is also planning further fam trips this year, with Vietnam and Portugal among the planned destinations.
