Estonia to raise profile among agents with Atas membership
Visit Estonia has joined the Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers to showcase the destination to travel agents as an “exciting, alternative destination”.
Fam trips are planned, as are events such as an Estonia summer party and winter breakfast reception, plus training for agents.
The tourist board is represented in the UK by destination marketing specialist Nordic Travel Solutions, whose team includes Andy Fairburn, Paul Wagner and Gill Haynes, with Jennie Carr as the main contact for travel agents.
She said membership of Atas will raise the awareness of Estonia among agents as an “exciting, alternative destination that provides a range of quality touring and soft adventure opportunities with real value for money”.
“Agents can share a less well-known destination with customers who are looking for somewhere different that’s big on activities and adventures – and able to sell touring and adventure through operators,” she said.
“Travellers are looking more and more for new, exciting and unspoilt destinations, off the beaten track but with good value for money.”
She said the capital Tallinn is very attractive for city breaks and the countryside offers the chance to explore the natural environment and take part in soft adventure excursions.
“We also want to show that Estonia is a sophisticated destination,” she added.
“Estonia is well placed as it is a really high-quality destination yet still has affordable prices.”
Training is available via estoniaexpert.com while marketing support is available through Nordic Travel Solutions or visitestonia.com.
Claire Brighton, Atas account director, said: “I’m excited to welcome Estonia and their UK partners Nordic Travel Partners to Atas.
“It really does offer agents so many different and unusual options for exploring – from city breaks to treks and cycling routes in the countryside.
“Visit Estonia recognises the valuable role that agents can play in boosting bookings so I hope that the trade really gets behind this destination as it is seeing demand bounce back strongly.”
